[immediately, as he's glancing over to where Crois' points]

No explosions anytime soon if I can help it.

I'll make sure that's off limits regardless . . . what is it?

I'm not supposed to tell you. My shepherd and the rest of the flock have wanted to keep it a secret.

[leonheartedly]

[he glances back, giving him a long look]

. . . all right. I'll keep it to myself until I can't, then.

[afineknight]

If I tell you, none of them can know. I'm serious, you cannot say a word to anyone. No one on Thistle, shit like this is why they don't want to tell anyone.

[leonheartedly]

[he holds up a hand]

If it'll get you in trouble with anyone, I don't want to know. I can keep them away from there without knowing why.

. . . but you know you can trust me. I won't say a word.

[afineknight]

[ He sucks in a bit of air, glancing around to make sure they are well and truly alone. no shadow lurking here or anything. ]

. . . Her name is Coco. She's a cat that is trapped in there by some sort of seal. But she seems fine otherwise. After every ritual, as long as Daffodil does not die, she spins a wheel and gives us rations.

Her room used to be underground, amidst a massive maze. But when we went earlier today, the mist had begun to seep in.

[leonheartedly]

[there's a crack in his expression, a guilty wince like earlier, but he steels his expression again]

Is she all right?

[afineknight]

We did— something, I'm not entirely certain what. But it raised the room. She still cannot leave, but she appears to be safe for now.

That mist cannot encroach on the pasture any further.

[leonheartedly]

[he has a whole bunch of questions, but seeing as he's not supposed to know about this in the first place, he'll keep them to himself.

He glances back over to the area Crois pointed out, nodding after a few moments of silence]

They aren't telling any of the other flocks about her because they do not trust them. Lily and Bluebell always seem to be up to something. I had convinced Tart to at least discuss her circumstances with Zenith over on Clover, but with Thistle's latest excursion and this sudden influx of mist, I don't know how willing he'll be on sharing anything with anyone at the moment.

[ He sighs, rubbing at the back of his neck. ]

It may all be a moot point. Who knows if anyone else can even go in? I suppose we'll find out as more and more people notice that fixture.

[leonheartedly]

[he crosses his arms, taking a step towards the fence to lean against it]

I don't know anyone else well enough to say anything about trust besides Thistle, but he's right to keep it to himself. Especially right now; we don't know what else might happen because of us - . . . because of all of this.

[afineknight]

I do . . . still want Zenith to know. I want another flock to be aware, just in case.

I don't think Daffodil's secrecy is any better than the other flocks running about, frankly. But perhaps that is just experience talking.

[leonheartedly]

Maybe once things calm down, Tart can reconsider.

. . . it's experience talking. [a shrug] But that might be my own experience agreeing.

[afineknight]

At least you know.

[ He shrugs. ]

So. How is Thistle?

[leonheartedly]

Varies. Pleased with the immediate outcome, but they still had to explode to get to it.

The rest . . . [he glances away] Goes without saying, but we didn't want any of that happening.

[afineknight]

Of course not.

Charon and I were talking. We were thinking that we should speak with Blossom and see how to reverse it.

[leonheartedly]

Mmm. I'm sure we'll be going to speak to her, too, once things are less . . . [a gesture] Fucking chaotic.

[afineknight]

[ He snorts, shaking his head. ]

Amen to that.

[leonheartedly]

[he's still looking out past the fence, fingers starting to drum against his arm]

. . . I'll bring my notes by later.

[afineknight]

That sounds good. We can go over everything then.

[leonheartedly]

[he nods, fingers briefly drumming faster]

Yeah. Fair warning, you're not gonna like it.

[afineknight]

[ ughhHHHH.

after a moment he just

steps over

and thunks his forehead down on Tyr's shoulder. ]

[leonheartedly]

[hah . . . he lifts a hand to Crois' shoulder, rubbing it slowly]

[ muffled: ]

We're doing a good job, aren't we?
