[he's quiet for a moment.

Then he lets out a soft, weak huff, tipping his head to very, very lightly rest it against Crois']

We're trying.

[ oh. that's comforting. ]

That is all we can do.

[leonheartedly]

[it is kind of nice.

He makes an agreeing noise]

It's the only option.

[afineknight]

The only acceptable option, anyway.

[leonheartedly]

Same difference.

[he squeezes his shoulder]

[afineknight]

[ He snorts softly, but says nothing.

He knows he should probably move, but he's not going to. ]

[leonheartedly]

[he doesn't have to. In fact, his hand is tentatively shifting over to rest against the back of his neck instead, still rubbing slowly. Doing his best to be comforting]

[afineknight]

[ He makes a soft, appreciative noise. yeah, okay, that helps. ]

[leonheartedly]

[if his head leans a little more, well, maybe it's comforting for him, too]

[afineknight]

[ It's nice. And he wants to linger, to let it sit, but after a moment, he murmurs: ]

So much for discretion, eh?

[leonheartedly]

[he lets out a soft snort, mumbling back:]

Fuck discretion right now.

[afineknight]

. . . yeah. Fuck discretion.

[leonheartedly]

. . . no one's looking anyway.

[he gently squeezes his neck]

[afineknight]

[ He's finding that he doesn't care even if people were looking, and isn't that a kick in the pants.

It feels selfish, with their circumstances and everything, and part of him is screaming to pull away, to not engage, to let it go because he's done. He's been done for awhile. Nothing can change that, no matter how much they both want it.

But the other part of him is entirely too selfish and so, he stays put. ]

[leonheartedly]

[it's a really bad idea. And it's selfish for Tyr too, but if he takes the time to think too hard about any of that, then he'll be the one who gets spooked and runs and - he can't do that. Not when it's . . . whatever this is. Complicated.

Maybe he wants to let himself be selfish for once]

[afineknight]

[ after another long moment: ]

I should . . . get back.

[ he's not moving tho. ]

[leonheartedly]

Mm . . . I should, too.

[funny, neither is he]

[afineknight]

. . .

What are we doing?

[leonheartedly]

. . .

[he faintly shakes his head]

I don't know.

[afineknight]

[ He's gonna just pull back before they can make any more poor choices. ]

[leonheartedly]

[he lets his hand drop when he does, but catches Crois' sleeve before he can get too far]

Does it matter it's called? Whatever it is.

[afineknight]

[ He glances down at his sleeve at that. ]

. . . It should.

[leonheartedly]

. . . it should.

[he also glances down, frowning as his fingers briefly tighten. Then, quietly:]

All I know is that I don't want it to stop.
