day 37, afternoon

[afineknight]

[ it is a BUSY AFTERNOON, with Tyr showing Crois around and Crois meeting many people and making some of them sad by not remembering while he is oblivious(-ish) to it all.

Eventually, though, even this Crois gets worn out. He waves a hand idly. ]

I think, ehh— I think I'd like to go back to Daffodil for now. Biscuit said it was quiet there.

[leonheartedly]

[he might look a little relieved to hear that, he's so emotionally exhausted]

Sure - yeah, Daffodil's always pretty quiet. C'mon, I'll take you back.

[afineknight]

Good. I need a quiet place to grill you about this note I wrote myself.

[ is he being serious or not, we just don't know. ]

[leonheartedly]

[ominous . . . but he is leading the way to Daffodil]

Uh - okay?

[afineknight]

I feel like I wrote it to try and be succinct because if I were to say everything I wanted to say, I would have written another thesis statement.

[leonheartedly]

[he snorts softly]

How long was your thesis?

[afineknight]

Heh. Far too long, my friend. Far too long.

[leonheartedly]

Yeah, I bet.

Surprised you didn't hand me a stack of papers, though. You really do have a lot going on.

[afineknight]

I have a feeling there is a stack of papers waiting for me wherever I have been staying.

[leonheartedly]

I may or may not have spent last night watching you write the last of them.

[afineknight]

Goddamnit. I know myself far too well.

[leonheartedly]

You're thorough. Nothing wrong with that.

[afineknight]

I am thorough and have this subconscious need to always be the good samaritan.

[leonheartedly]

Subconscious?

[afineknight]

[ conscious enough to make me want to kick my own ass. ]

[leonheartedly]

[he puffs out an amused noise, gesturing for Crois to go in first when they get to Daffodil]

It's not a bad thing.

[afineknight]

Ha.

[ He steps in, pausing when he does so and furrowing his brows. And then, he shakes his head, moving in further and looking around. ]

[leonheartedly]

[he follows him in, sticking his hands in his pockets after shutting door. He watches Crois for a moment, then:]

Feels a little weird to offer you a tour here, but - I can if you want.

[afineknight]

[ Crois takes a few steps around where he collapsed earlier. it's like there's something just out of reach, something that happened here, something that he maybe doesn't want to remember— ]

Hmm? No, no, I can ask Biscuit to do so later.

[leonheartedly]

[he hums softly in understanding]

All right.

[. . .]

Do you want me to - [get lost, but instead he seems to stumble over it and says instead] - hang around? Or leave you to rest?

[afineknight]

I get the feeling that you don't want to leave, amigo. So I won't make you.

[ He gestures. ]

Come. Show me which room is mine.

[ this is also him testing a theory. ]

[leonheartedly]

[he huffs, but dips his head in silent acknowledgement and starts for the stairs]

This way.

[afineknight]

[ well then.

He follows along! ]

[leonheartedly]

[right to his bedroom door he goes]

[afineknight]

[ He steps in, looking around, then spots the notes nearby in his handwriting.

yeah, this is his room.

Without turning around or missing a beat: ]
